It’s very clever. with its rough edges adding to its authenticity, and promoting the sort of local campaigning that is familiar to Liberal Democrats:

The advert was for Jimmy Flannigan, a progressive running for District 6 on Austin City Council in 2014. He won, taking the seat off the Republicans.
