Lib Dem tip #10: Serious about campaigning? Join ALDC

Welcome to the latest in my series of tips and advice for Liberal Democrat members, which appear first in the email bulletin run by London Region for party members.

ALDC, the Association of Liberal Democrat Councillors and Campaigners, is a vital source of advice, support and resources for councillors and local campaigners, including its excellent Fighting Fund.

Included in the package is a WordPress-based blogging service designed specially for councillors and would-be councillors, along with high quality leaflet templates and regular mailings full of advice. Perhaps most important is access to the ALDC staff team and Facebook support group if you have a question. Whether it’s an obscure query about how planning law works for a controversial local development or an urgent plea for help to sort out an election law problem on polling day, the ALDC team is ready with bucket loads of experience and helpfulness.

You can join on the ALDC website. It is just £3.41 a month for the first six months for people who are new to ALDC.

You may even already be a member, as bulk membership is also open to council groups and local parties.
