Commenting on other people’s blogs is a great way to have interesting discussions, learn from others – and publicize yourself and your own site.
The content of your comments is crucial to achieving all of these, but there’s one aspect that is often over-looked: having a good profile on blog commenting systems. Suppose, for example, that you comment on a site that requires you to login with a Blogger (Google) account. That means your comment will appear with your name – and a link through to your Blogger profile. What you have, or haven’t, done to refine that profile can have a big impact on what people think of you.
