Courtesy of the Scandinavian Kitchen a few days ago I had a Nidar Smash! chocolate bar for the first time.
Only one thing to say about it: yummmmmm.
Oh and yummmmmm.
Not to mention yummmmmm.
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that it wasn’t the paprika flavoured one I had, for that only lasted between 2003 and 2005. Instead, it was the traditional Smash!, back under its traditional name after a flirtation with being called Maize Snacks for a few years in the 1990s.
The company itself talks about how it adds salt to the traditional chocolate taste, which is something a few posh chocolates do too. But I found the real yummmmmm came from the very crunchy corn cores. Despite the name, there is no taste of smashed potatoes.
The only downside? Those health conscious Norwegians make it in bars of 35g.
