  1. Presumably we have to hope that criminals are also good at replacing windows, repairing car scratches and other miscellaneous DIY skills?

    Somehow I doubt they are.

    • Ha 🙂 Mind you, these sorts of community restoration projects have worked well when they've been used so far from what I've heard, so extending them in London sounds a good move to me. Don't know if you've got any knowledge about them that makes you more sceptical?

  2. Er, is that it? All 176 just have this message? Or are there others in a series? Hardly the stuff to shift Boris or Ken voters I'm afraid

    • Unpaid work is a standard requirement already for many community orders or suspended sentence orders. Not quite sure what this is intended to change.

    • Martin Pierce Each time I blog about a piece of publicity from the Brian campaign I seem to get at least one comment saying something along the lines of 'That message isn't enough on its own'. Which is true – and why there's more to the campaign than any one individual item. The moral perhaps is that I need to turn more readers of individual blog posts into repeat readers 🙂
