Natural History Museum: some merchandising advice

If you are going to sell some Charles Darwin cuddly toys that don’t look like Charles Darwin, it is best not to put them on a shelf next to lots of pictures of the man himself.

UPDATE: There were lots and lots of us there yesterday – some with four legs too! Shame I missed you Millennium Elephant, Dr Pack and Helen Duffett. Next time!

And it’s probably not a good idea to sell models of HMS Beagle which fly completely the wrong ensign. The original and best Darwin is here, made by a multitalented scientist and auctioned to raise money to build the new Beagle. The NHM is superb, though. If you can get a trip to the spirit room, visit. Coelacanth in a jar, that giant squid and some original specimens collected by Darwin on the Beagle.

Wonder what you evolved from, Pink Dog? By the way, Millennium Elephant spotted Ron in the dinosaur gallery, glaring at a pterodactyl.
