Property taxes: important snippet from ConservativeHome

Writing on ConHome, Peter Hoskin mentioned this important point in passing:

I’d just like to throw in this report from the OECD which suggests that, of all taxes, taxes on property are the least harmful to economic growth, with those on corporate and personal income being the most harmful.

Of course the party pushing for higher property taxation at the moment, whether in the guise of mansion tax or wealth tax, is the Liberal Democrats.
