Other than saying I’d like more trees (dog loves trees – there’s a surprise) I also mentioned the increasing number of abandoned tree pits around the bits of the borough which I frequent.
Where a tree on the pavement has been removed, it should either be replaced or – if that’s not practical for reasons such as roots damaging utility pipes – then the tree pit should get paved over again. Instead, there are several pits that have been left empty around here – with the resulting litter traps (when it’s dry) and mud/puddle traps (when it’s wet).
Plus of course it should be made illegal for cats to run up trees.
