What to make of the party leader websites?

Interesting and insightful review by Malcolm Coles over at Econsultancy, looking at Gordon Brown, David Cameron and Nick Clegg.

The one real quibble I have with it is the focus on the national perspective; the real gains from internet campaigning in terms of directly reaching the public are to be had at the local level. When reviewing national sites, how they fit in with that is an important factor.

One response to “What to make of the party leader websites?”

  1. I’m sure you’re right, Mark. But I was interested in seeing how their online presence fares in the run up to the debate this week when presumably people are going to be particularly interested in them as people.
Google’s stats already show that searches for Cameron are running at about 50% of the level of searches for Conservatives. I’m guessing this will change as Thursday’s debate nears ….
