He said: “Luton has been good to me. The town has been a good home to me and to my family, has given me many valuable friendships and I am proud to live and work in the town.

“I have always tried to put something back into the community and have been privileged to be able to work with so many good people in organisations striving to improve life chances, especially for Luton’s young people.”
