Sabrent’s 4 port USB 3.0 aluminium hub: nicely made, with a clunky cable

USB 3.0 hub from Sabrent
Sabrent’s 4 Port USB 3.0 Aluminium Hub is nicely made, with a rubberised non-slip finish on the bottom and generously spaced USB slots that make it easy to unplug and plug devices even when the other slots are all in use. Despite that generous spacing, it is light and small with the only real blemish being the thick and clunky cable to connect the hub to your main device.

The Sabrent Hub is USB 3.0 compatible, which may well mean nothing to you if you’re not up with the technical details of USB, but in short it means that if you are connecting together newer devices they operate much more quickly. For example, when syncing my iPod with my laptop, even shifting large audio books on and off the device happens super-fast and noticeably better than when I used to be on older USB technology.

(Note: on Amazon some of the reviews on the USB 3.0 product page refer to it as being USB 2.0. Looking at the comments and the links, it looks to me as if either the product has been updated or comments have been mistakenly merged across different devices. The one I have is definitely USB 3.0.)
