Another day, another dodgy automated phone call about insurance, this time from 08437 240 891.
I say dodgy for two reasons. First, firms can only make automated calls to you if they have your prior permission to do so, and to the best of my knowledge this one didn’t. But also, second, the recorded message contained a false claim about my insurance policy – and making calls in large volume with such erroneous statements in the hope that they’ll be true for a few people who will then bite is the hallmark of dodgy mass automated phone call sales operations.
If you get a call, ignore it. Ignore it except for one thing. It’s always a good more to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner here. The regulator can move a little slowly, but movement happens when there are lots of complaints.
