A chance to get campaigning again in London this Saturday

Tower Hamlets

The #libdemfightback is in full swing in Tower Hamlets. Already over 100 people have joined Tower Hamlets Liberal Democrats in less than a week, and the team has been back on the doorsteps talking to people and drumming up support for the Mayoral and Stepney Green by-elections on June 11th following Lutfur Rahman being stripped of office for election offences (update – and things continued to get worse for him).

The real work starts on Saturday 15th however, when the party officially launches Elaine Bagshaw’s Mayoral bid, and they’d love it if you could come down and support us.

Set right around the corner from the Limehouse Declaration, the party is continuing the grand tradition of fighting back to deliver affordable housing; jobs for local people; opportunities for our young people and an end to corruption in the borough.

The event will start at 1pm with some speeches, and then people will head out canvassing for the afternoon. In the evening, they are planning to head to the Prospect of Whitby for some well-deserved drinks at around 6pm.

For a borough that is in the shadows of the City and Canary Wharf, it’s unacceptable that we have the second highest unemployment rate in London and 49% of our children are living in poverty. Join the team on Saturday to help Elaine Bagshaw and the Liberal Democrats build a better Tower Hamlets.
