LAB: 37.7% (+1.3)
UKIP: 30.0% (-14.2)
CON: 20.4% (+0.9)
IND: 6.4% (+6.4)
GRN: 2.6% (+2.6)
LDEM: 1.6%

Meanwhile, the Faraday ward by-election result is another instalment for the ‘one step forward, many more yet to go’ file of Liberal Democrat recoveries. Many years ago now the area had Liberal Democrat councillors. Now it’s held by Labour by a large margin, but the by-election saw a big swing to the Lib Dems as the party moved from fifth to second:

LAB: 60.9% (-0.6)
LD: 14.5% (+8.2)
GRN: 7.8% (-3.8)
CON: 6.6% (-2.8)
UKIP: 5.3% (+5.3)
IND: 2.7% (+2.7)

That big swing is particularly pleasing given the fantastic Lauren Pemberton-Nelson was the Liberal Democrat candidate.
