The best Lib Dem ward results in London, part 1
Now that the full ward-by-ward election results are out for the 2016 London Mayor and Assembly elections, here are the top 20 wards for Lib Dem vote share on the London Assembly list ballot.
I’ve picked this one as it’s the one where Liberal Democrats get elected in Mayor and GLA elections, so it’s the most important. It’s also the one that best captures the party’s underlying strength and weakness as it has the same parties on it across London, unlike the variation in constituency candidate line-ups.
So here are the top 20:
Southwark | Surrey Docks | 23.9% |
Kingston upon Thames | Grove | 23.1% |
Kingston upon Thames | Berrylands | 23.0% |
Sutton | Wallington South | 22.9% |
Kingston upon Thames | Surbiton Hill | 22.2% |
Sutton | Carshalton Central | 22.0% |
Sutton | Wallington North | 21.3% |
Kingston upon Thames | St Marks | 21.2% |
Kingston upon Thames | Alexandra | 20.9% |
Kingston upon Thames | Tolworth and Hook Rise | 20.8% |
Sutton | Carshalton South and Clockhouse | 20.8% |
Kingston upon Thames | Chessington North and Hook | 20.8% |
Sutton | Sutton South | 20.3% |
Southwark | Riverside | 20.2% |
Richmond upon Thames | Teddington | 20.0% |
Sutton | Wandle Valley | 19.6% |
Southwark | Cathedrals | 19.4% |
Sutton | The Wrythe | 18.8% |
Sutton | Sutton West | 18.7% |
Kingston upon Thames | Norbiton | 18.6% |
Honourable mentions to Muswell Hill, Haringey (15.8%) and Southfield, Ealing (15.6%) for being the top two wards outside Southwark, Kingston, Richmond and Sutton in the tables.
Next up when I’ve crunched the numbers will be the twenty best vote share changes.
