11 Lib Dems in Queen’s Birthday Honours
Eleven Liberal Democrats have been spotted in the latest Queen’s Birthday Honours list:
- Heather Bisset, a councillor in Aberdeenshire and long-term supporter of girl guiding and education – MBE
- Nigel Bliss, long standing chief financial person at Lib Dem HQ (and the man who hugely speeded up payment of my expenses when I worked at HQ and he took over – thank you still Nigel!) – MBE
- Jean-Francois Burford, a councillor in Richmond and chair of Kew Park Rangers Football Club – BEM
- Simon Cook, a former councillor in Bristol and major figure in the cultural sector – MBE
- Ruth Dombey, the Lib Dem Leader of Sutton Council – OBE
- Merlene Emerson, the most prominent Chinese Liberal Democrat – MBE
- Dave Hodgson, the directly elected Mayor of Bedford – MBE
- Lionel King, long time member in Solihull – MBE
- Paul Marshall, he of the Orange Book and CentreForum as well as a leading educational philanthropist – knighthood
- Jen Yockney, one of the most prominent and successful Lib Dem campaigners for the bisexual community – MBE
- Gerald Vernon-Jackson, the former (and, I hope, future) leader of Portsmouth Council – CBE
Of course, do let me know if I have missed anyone (and close reading of this post’s URL will reveal just how many names I’ve added…)
