Liberal Democrats gain council seat from the SNP
Four by-elections this week, and a shortage of time in the day so let’s get straight into the results so far:
Heyhouses (Fylde) result:
CON: 58.1% (+11.5)
LAB: 17.9% (-13.3)
LDEM: 12.2% (-10.0)
GRN: 11.8% (+11.8)Con HOLD.

Elsewhere, the first Lib Dem candidate in a ward since 2007:
Milford (New Forest) result:
CON: 76.4% (-3.3)
LDEM: 14.5% (+14.5)
LAB: 9.1% (-11.2)Con HOLD.

On to somewhere where it’s very much the Green Party performance that is of note – Wiveliscombe & West Deane ward in Taunton Deane:

And finally, a nice way to end the round-up: a Lib Dem gain. Congratulations to Denis Rixson and the team for winning a ward in Charles Kennedy’s old Parliamentary constituency:
