George James selected by Liberal Democrats in Stroud

Congratulations to George James, selected by Liberal Democrats in Stroud as the party’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC).

As he describes himself on his website:

I am one of two Liberal Democrat councillors for Wotton-under-Edge, North Nibley and Stinchcombe, proud to be continuing 30 years of hard work.

I currently sit on Stroud District Council’s Community Services and Licensing and constitution committees.

It’s easy to say I am happy to be part of the #LibDemfightback.

Good to see that, like Vince Cable, George James is a keen believer in the importance of further education (FE):

I don’t usually mention town/parish council elections, but it is worth mentioning that in September the Lib Dems won a town council by-election in Stroud, making Steve Dechan the first Lib Dem to be elected in the town for twenty-four years.

UPDATE: The Liberal Democrats have stood aside in Stroud as part of the Remain Alliance.
