Three by-elections, two Liberal Democrat candidates

Three council by-elections this week, three Conservative defences but, alas, only two Liberal Democrat candidates.

Ansdell, Fylde

No Liberal Democrat candidate here, continuing the recent pattern of no-shows in this part of England:

Snettisham, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk

Erika Coward was the Liberal Democrat candidate in a ward the party last contested in 2004. She even scored a (rather distant!) second place:

 

Orton Longueville, Peterborough

A town with a growing Liberal Democrat council group and a Labour MP facing legal action.

Daniel Gibbs was the Liberal Democrat candidate and good to see he moved up above the Greens:
