Speaking on Edward Murrow’s CBS radio show in 1952, Violet Bonham Carter explained her political views:
Violet Bonham Carter was an active frontline Liberal politician, including serving as the party’s first ever female President and joining the House of Lords in 1964. She was also the daughter of Liberal Prime Minister Herbert Asquith and grandmother to actress Helena Bonham Carter.
