Andrew Murday selected for Skipton and Ripon constituency

News from Skipton and Rippon Liberal Democrats of their new Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC):

Skipton and Ripon Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that Andrew Murday has been selected as their new prospective parliamentary candidate. Andrew has run a smallholding near Pateley Bridge for the past eight years and is currently secretary of the Ripon branch. He brings political experience and enthusiasm to the constituency team.

He says: “I am determined to help local Liberal Democrats make an electoral mark in the constituency”.

The legendary Claire Brooks – one of the brilliant campaigners who kept the Liberal Party going through its darkest days in the 20th century – stood in this seat in years past.

The strength of the party locally has fallen a long way since those days, which makes it very encouraging that Andrew’s selection has been carried out so soon after the last general election. Getting new PPCs in place is often a key step in (re)building local parties.

Best of luck Andrew.
