A reminder of how Boris Johnson should really have been a character from The Thick of It

From Boris Johnson’s colourful time as Foreign Secretary comes this breakdown of historical knowledge:

“What happened in the Second World War?” indeed.

Laugh or cry? Your call. (But if in doubt, check out how he does with detail.)

  1. Serves him right. But I suspect what happened here was lack of rhetoric control (same as led Gerald Ford, debating with Jimmy Carter, into claiming then Warsaw Pact, Communist Poland as independent of the USSR). He’s been briefed with historical facts. He then runs free and once having mentioned IWW (when Portugal fought on the allied side), he must mention 2WW (when it was a semi-Fascist dictatorship playing both sides).

  2. Entirely in keeping with the story that he is to appear in the next Star Wars film – as Jar Jar Binks brother, Jaw Jaw Bonks.
