Martin Goss selected by Lib Dems in Colchester constituency

For many years Colchester constituency was held for the Liberal Democrats by Bob Russell. Now the party has selected a new Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for the seat:

Colchester Liberal Democrats select Martin Goss

On being selected Martin Goss said:

I will work tirelessly as always for the people of Colchester to ensure fairness in everything we do.

Colchester is in my DNA. I’ve been raised here. I’ve been educated here, worked here and most importantly, I live here.

I am proud to have been selected to represent our town in the next general election.

The local newspaper adds:

Mr Goss, of Axial Drive, Colchester, was first elected to the council in 2008 and serves the Mile End ward.

He was pitted against five other candidates coming out on top against former councillor Jo Hayes, Callum Robertson, Peter Gwizdala, James Sandbach and James Willis.

David King, party chairman elect, said: “The candidates were impressive. There was an excellent atmosphere and buzz of conversation.

“The winner Martin Goss has a deservedly fantastic ‘can do and will do’ reputation.

“He’s a local boy, a proven campaigner, councillor, cabinet member and activist with a strong local following across the political divide.

“We are proud to have him.”

  1. I wonder if you know about the mess in the car park at my Dr. Abby field medical centre we had a great car park but now it has been taken over and we only have very limited space. Cars are park on the road and pathways leading up to the centre if you drive all the way up in hope of a space you can’t turn back without great difficulty I fear there is going to be trouble one day. The most annoying thing is that all the spaces we are not allowed to use anymore are always empty with a post up to stop us parking there. I wonder if you would look into this. At this moment I am OK I am 83 but healthy and can walk unless I am ill but there are so many people my age and younger who can’t get there without a car or a taxi. I did hear of a little bus that will pick you up but have not heard any more about this nigher have I seen one. I think it is a disgrace enough to give you a heart attack or send your BP sky high. Hope you can help thank you.
