Chesterfield Liberal Democrats have selected local campaigner and accountant Emily Coy as their Parliamentary candidate in the seat formerly held by Paul Holmes.
Emily lives in Chesterfield and works as an accountant for a leading local firm.
On being selected Emily Coy said:
Chesterfield desperately needs investment to regenerate the town centre and make it a vibrant place that attracts visitors. This would bring money into the local economy and create a cycle of continuous improvement from which residents would benefit.
Liberal Democrat plans to replace Business Rates with a tax on Commercial Land would cut taxes for local shops and manufacturing businesses by 20%. That would be a huge and practical boost for local jobs and for our Town Centre.
Chesterfield is a terrific town on the edge of the beautiful Peak District and has so much to offer, yet Labour has allowed our town centre to decline. The Liberal Democrats have a long history of community campaigning and I intend to help Chesterfield grow and thrive by campaigning on local issues that matter to local people.
