Daniela Parker selected by Liberal Democrats for Weaver Vale

Liberal Democrat members in Weaver Vale constituency have selected Daniela Parker as their next Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC).

A graduate in psychology, she went on work for 12 years with substance misusing offenders in custody and is well known locally for her campaigning to improve the appearance and road safety of the urban village where she lives.

On being selected, Daniela Parker said:

I am thrilled to have been selected as the PPC for Weaver Vale. I am committed to working with all the members of the local community and demonstrating that our party’s policies can deliver a real improvement in people’s lives. Whether that is campaigning against fracking in our constituency or a fair funding model for our NHS, I believe we offer a much needed alternative to the Labour and the Tories who are being dictated to by the extreme minorities in their parties.

I am delighted to already have been able to start putting together my campaign team, and in the new year we will start planning our campaign strategy with my goal
to become the Liberal Democrat MP for Weaver Vale.

Previous Parliamentary candidate Paul Roberts, who is still very much involved and intending to stand in the 2019 local council elections, said:

I am delighted that Daniela – who lives in the constituency – has been appointed as the Weaver Vale PPC. I’m sure she will make a real impact and get a much improved Lib Dem result at the next general election, whenever it happens.

Local party chair Mark Ireland-Jones made an important point about the benefits of selecting Prospective Parliamentary Candidates:

We will be promoting her candidature during the local election campaign as having an excellent PPC is a strong asset.

With Brexit such a dominant part of what (little) the public notices about politics, the background of national politics is at a peak in its influence on local elections.

One response to “Daniela Parker selected by Liberal Democrats for Weaver Vale”

  1. “Weaver Vale” is a rather pleasant name for a constituency, but I have to admit I had no idea where it was, and had to look it up:

“The constituency covers the northern part of the Cheshire West and Chester unitary authority in Cheshire, including the towns of Northwich and Frodsham and the villages of Helsby and Weaverham. It also includes part of the borough of Halton, covering the easternmost suburbs of Runcorn.”
