Why Denmark Is .08 seconds behind the world
More educative entertainment from Tom Scott:
Measuring time is a complicated thing. Computers, banks, and stock markets in Denmark all use UTC, the international standard: but according to the law, they shouldn’t.
This changes tonight, the night between 25.03.2023 and 26.03.2023. At 02:00 local Danish time, Denmark officially switches to using UTC plus 1 hour. This happens after the Danish parliament (Folketinge) has adopted a new law defining the Danish time.
Ah ha!
