Of course, ALDC doesn’t quite tell you everything. There’s also a book you need…

  1. i don’t understand why we have an organisation within an organisation.
You join the lib dems and want to campaign and get involved and then find out that you have resources withheld from you unless you pay up and join another organisation.

  2. ALDC may have made sense when it was for councillors, but extend it to all campaigners and it doesn’t. The fee of £87 per year is far too high, especially as there is no discount for unwaged/student members as there are for other groups.

Basically the Lib Dems are saying “We need all the help from our members/supporters we can get, but unless you pay through the nose we won’t give you the tools to do the job”

Six months at half price is not a lot of use to someone who can’t afford the full fees. What are they supposed to do, resign after 6 months?

  3. Hi Teresa,

We completely agree and that’s why we will shortly be launching a new £30 annual rate for unwaged/student members and a few other groupings.

    Regards
    Joe (Membership and Marketing, ALDC)
