Lib Dems file papers to use “Liberal Democrats – To stop Brexit” on the Euro ballot papers

Political parties have the choice of using on ballot papers either their official name or one from a set of official party descriptions registered with the Electoral Commission.

Which helps explain why the Liberal Democrats have recently filed some paperwork with the said regulator:

Adam Payne tweet about Lib Dems applying for a new official description to use on ballot papers

A stark contrast to Labour’s approach.

UPDATE: The Electoral Commission finally approved this application, but not until after the European elections.

One response to “Lib Dems file papers to use “Liberal Democrats – To stop Brexit” on the Euro ballot papers”

  1. Great idea and will certainly be succinct in a sea of different messages . It’s un- ambiguous and clever to get that on the ballot paper . Well done Campaign Headquarters , I think we will perform rather better than the polls suggest .
Although the Brexit Party and Change UK have kicked off first they along with UKIP will come under immediate scrutiny – meanwhile we keep our powder dry with plenty of time to get our message right and to commit our ground troops to the battle ahead. I was just musing how our Paddy would have enjoyed the tactical battle to come
