  1. I simply can’t imagine how this man must feel – at the same time to be desperately hurt and incandescent with anger is unbearable. I also wrote to my MP, although, as I say in my email, I don’t suppose it will make the slightest difference (unsurprisingly, so far, I haven’t even had the courtesy of an acknowledgement).

    “Dear Sir
I am not convinced that it will make one iota of difference but I write to you concerning the Dominic Cummings situation. The way with which this has been dealt with by your party leader is an insult to me and my fellow constituents. The people of Dumfries and Galloway have, generally speaking, been enormously supportive of the government’s guidelines and this led to a rapid decline of incidents of Covid19. Some of those did so, despite tragic personal circumstances and they are to be commended for that. Imagine, if you can, how they will feel to learn that Cummings flagrantly abused those guidelines and did so in a fashion which treats those people with such disdain. I am disgusted and appalled to hear the Prime Minister describe his actions as those of a man “with integrity”. If this is the standard by which integrity is judged by your party, you should be ashamed. I ask you to disassociate yourself with this disgraceful incident and demand that Cummings be sacked. I look forward to your reply acceding to my request or an explanation of why you are continuing to support him.
    Yours faithfully”
