This is exactly the kind of candidate we want, someone quite unlike me (white, over-educated and comparatively speaking, privileged), with a story to tell, and one which in its emphasis on a previous history of cynicism towards politics, represents of a wide swathe of people’s feelings towards politics. Good luck to you, Winston, and well done to those in the party or not, who may have helped persuade you to stand for election.
