The impact of polling on political journalism

That’s the question considered by a piece in Research Magazine, which includes my comment on the impact of the very quick post-TV debate polls in the last general election:

Mark Pack, co-editor of the Liberal Democrat Voice website, was influential in drawing attention to media reporting of polls during the 2010 campaign. He says the instant polls “boxed in the scope for newspapers to write up the event as their editorial line wished”.|
