Go to Lewisham to see the letters without envelopes

Jenni Steele, Lewisham Liberal Democrats leafletThis morning it was off to Lewisham to help Lib Dem Jenni Steele’s by-election campaign. It would have been a handy chance to sample the benefits of years of investment in improving public transport around London by being able to nip down the Victoria Line and then get a through London direct train on the new Overground connection from Highbury & Islington all the way through to Lewisham. It would, that is, if it weren’t for the Victoria Line being closed for the day. In fact, this weekend was one of those where it would have been easier for the TfL announcers to say which tube lines were running.

But courtesy of a slightly round-about route I got there anyway, and as a result got to see a rather clever idea from Lewisham Liberal Democrats – target letters that don’t need envelopes. Sometimes you see letters that are just delivered without an envelope, but the way these folded was rather cleverer than that.

As polling day is Thursday I won’t give away their folding secret though other than to say – get to the by-election to find out. And just to make sure you don’t work out the trick from the photo, I’ve used a picture of Jenni’s last weekend A3 for that…
