Woo! Victory is ours in the war on unusual website legal demands (Part 3)

Ready the confetti, assemble the brass band and prepare to burst your lungs with cheering. For another victory has been won in the war on eccentric website terms and conditions.

Once again someone snuck in a demand that people get prior permission before linking to the Dumfries and Galloway Council website.

An FoI request from me revealed that the council keeps no records of any such requests (which makes the idea of insisting on permission a little hard to enforce…) but on being asked for a comment their press office promptly responding telling me:

Our Council’s web team has agreed to remove the last sentence. Our Council wishes its website information to be freely available.

Good to see such a quick and sensible response.
