Why was this four-hour drive made in 1993 in Nigeria?
Continuing my series of interesting stories from 1993, let’s turn to Nigeria…
Why did a courier make a four-hour drive through a Nigerian forest to reach a settlement so small that it does not have a name?
(a) To deliver a poll tax demand,
(b) To attempt to find a part of a satellite that had fallen off and come back to Earth, or
(c) To honour a bet made the previous week in a Manchester pub?
Answer: (a).
Bet it was from Lambeth Council!
