Peter Callesen comes to Manchester

Last week I nipped up to Manchester to see a special exhibition of artists who do wondrous things with paper, attracted by the chance to see some more of Peter Callesen’s amazing work at first hand.

Callesen didn’t disappoint, with this extremely clever piece made, as ever for him, out of a single sheet of paper:

I also got another chance to see the one I saw in London in the summer:

One of the other artists I particularly liked was Justine Smith with her Money Map of the World, using banknotes from each country to show them on the map:

Looking at Canada reminds you just how big it is – two bank notes high!
