Conservative councillor switches to Lib Dems

Halifax Today has the news:

FORMER Tory councillor Nick Yates, who was in the running to be this year’s Deputy Mayor of Calderdale, has joined the Liberal Democrats.

His decision leaves the control of Calderdale Council even more finely balanced – the Conservatives have 18 seats and the Liberal Democrats 17.
