How to draw the right lessons from the FDP

It’s a well-known fact that too much data is confusing, messy and just too darn hard to make good use of.

So when presented with lots of data, the best way to make predictions is to discard all but one data point, and then rest all your inferences, extrapolations and conclusions on just the one data point. It’s what professional commentators do, after all.

Therefore when looking at lessons from the FDP’s electoral history in Germany for other parties in coalition, do not make the stupid basic mistake of thinking that looking at more evidence is better than looking at less. Don’t waste your time looking at all the past elections which the FDP when inot after a period in coalition. Discard all but one data point and only talk about that.

You know it makes sense.
