MPs keep in touch: Twitter, Facebook and reality TV

Social media sites are now the norm for most MPs who aim to keep in touch with constituents via Facebook and Twitter.

Some go further and try reality TV, but that does not always go down well with voters and commentators, and some MPs say face-to-face contact is still the best.

David Thompson spoke to author Mark Pack and to David Blunkett MP, and looked at archive from the 2003 BBC documentary, When Michael Portillo Became A Single Mum, plus a recent clip of MP Alec Shelbrooke in a onesie on TV, ahead of a plan to wear it in the House of Commons.
