Number of police investigations into Tower Hamlets elections reaches 12

The Evening Standard reports the latest on election fraud in troubled Tower Hamlets:

Scotland Yard are investigating two new complaints relating to election fraud at Tower Hamlets Council.

There are currently 10 investigations being made by officers, including allegations of failing to put a correct imprint on elections literature and making false statements about a candidate.

Police said four complaints relate to allegations of false declarations made on nominations papers, two relate to postal voting and two relate to electoral fraud…

Three men have been arrested in connection with police enquiries.

Good thing the police are taking a rather more robust line than the Electoral Commission.
