Congratulations to former MEP Sharon Bowles on her new job

Liberal Democrat MEP Sharon Bowles announced that she was standing down at the May elections this year.

After being linked with the Bank of England, she has now landed a new role:

The London Stock Exchange has appointed one of the most senior former Liberal Democrats in Europe to its board as non-executive director…

Bowles, 61, is widely seen as one of the most influential people involved in shaping EU policy on financial services regulation, including the key second Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Mifid II).

She sat in the European Parliament from 2005 to this year and chaired its Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee.
