Pizza Express Euston Road, north London
Pizza Express branches tend to fall into two clear categories: the slightly different quirky ones and the very boxy, cram in as many tables as you can on to a noisy tile floor, ones.
Euston Road is very much the latter. Bad for people who like elbow room. Good for people who like eavesdropping. And woe-betide any waiter who isn’t thin but has to make their way round the tables.
The thin staff did though, you’ll be glad to hear, continue the Pizza Express tradition of suddenly getting slower with the service when it gets to the point of wanting to give them money. Weird yet endearing.
That’s four down, 124 to go. I may be some time.
I would not describe our waiter as thin…. more ‘athletic’.
