Double-dose of electoral reform talk in Wales: recall and votes at 16
Voters should have the right to throw out their local Assembly Member if they behave improperly, says Welsh Liberal Democrat leader Kirsty Williams.
Ms Williams wants to see a so-called “right of recall” introduced so AMs can be removed between elections.
Sixteen-year-olds could be given the vote in a referendum on whether to give Welsh ministers tax-varying powers.
The Welsh government will be given the right to decide the age at which people can vote in such a poll, Wales Office Minister Baroness Randerson [Lib Dem] said.
