Zac Goldsmith was elected Conservative MP for Richmond Park in 2010, defeating Liberal Democrat Susan Kramer.
In 2016 he triggered a by-election over Conservative plans for Heathrow Airport. He lost that to Sarah Olney, won the seat back at the 2017 general election but then lost it back to her in 2019. He then was appointed to the House of Lords.
He ran for London Mayor in 2016 and lost to Sadiq Khan.
