Perhaps when ringing your local council you hope for your call to be answered quickly, handled well and the appropriate action to follow swiftly and effectively?
Good luck then if the council is Labour-run Haringey as you’ve got a greater than 1 in 3 chance of falling before even the first hurdle, with your call not only not being answered quickly but not being answered at all.
The figures come from Haringey Council’s own statistics, reported in July, which show that 37% of calls to Haringey Council’s call centre were not answered at all in the last year.
What’s more, Haringey’s target is only to answer 90% of calls. Yup, that’s right – they think an acceptable standard to aim for is to fail to answer 1 in 10 phone calls received.
UPDATE: I’ve managed to snap some exclusive footage from inside Haringey Council’s call centre…
