Sitting right near the border between Haringey and Islington, the Whittington Hospital performs a vital service for both. Its A+E services are under threat of closure and Hornsey & Wood Green MP Lynne Featherstone has organised a public meeting for this Thursday (4 March) where the health chiefs can explain their plans and then hear what people think about them. Given the importance of showing the strength of public feeling when it comes to swaying their minds, a good turnout at the meeting is important.
I can’t make it myself unfortunately, so consider this blog post penance and an encouragement to others to attend instead. The meeting is at 8pm, Greig City Academy, Hornsey, N8 7NU (use entrance from Hillfield Avenue and follow the signs).
If you’re on Facebook, you can sign up to say you’re coming to the meeting here and – most importantly – share it with your friends on Facebook.
There’s more on the background to the issue over on Lynne’s site on the Whittington Hospital page and in this short film:
There’s plenty of campaigning also going on over on the Islington side of the borough boundary, as you can see from the Save Whittington Hospital site.
