How one new member became a Liberal Democrat councillor

Jon Tolley, newly elected as a councillor in Kingston (home of the Liberal Democrat secret weapon), tells his story:

Wow. What an experience.

I wanted to write a piece about the election, the election campaign and the whole journey. I think it’ll be interesting to some, but even if it’s only for me to read back in a few months or years, i want to write something while it’s still fresh.

There’s been a lot of people “following” me recently, so I’m going to start by putting everything in context. Also, let this act as a warning, that soon you’ll be seeing tweets about non-league football and bands you might not have heard of…
