Conservative Party: please don’t flush your toilet when it’s stormy

The Conservatives have been getting a lot of flack over the dumping of sewage in our rivers and on our beaches.

But this is quite something as an answer to the problem, from a Conservative leaflet in Winchester:

  1. as I was told on a doorstep, ‘it must be true, I read it in the newspaper’.
    If it is printed in a tabloid format, even if it is delivered for free, then it is to be believed…
