Gosport makes it four: Tories lose another council
I thought now was a bad time to be a Conservative Parliamentary candidate, but it’s almost as bad being a Conservative council leader – with four councils in a week moving out of Conservative control.
The latest is Gosport, where the Conservative leader and his minority administration walked out after losing a vote.
Previously, the Tories lost their majority in Crawley after a councillor switched to the Liberal Democrats, and it was the same story in Dover a few days before that, whilst in the Vale of Glamorgan Labour are back running the council after a vote of no-confidence.
