MORI opinion poll in the Observer: Lib Dems up again

Worth mentioning as it’s got very little publicity today:

Conservatives 38% (-3%)
Labour 31% (-2%)
Liberal Democrats 20% (+3%)

That’s now the fifth poll in a row which has shown the Liberal Democrat support to be up compared with the previous poll from the same company (one each from Populus, Communicate Research, ICM*, YouGov and MORI). The average scores across the five are Conservative 37.0%, Labour 29.8% and Lib Dem 20.2%. To see all the recent polls, take a look at my PollBase database.

Quite how ConservativeHome reports the Liberal Democrat figure in its poll of polls to be 17.75% (see pages like this one) is a bit of a mystery. Insert frothing at mouth about dodgy statistics, lying politicians, fake numbers etc here if you wish, though it’s more likely that someone hasn’t got round to updating their graphic for quite a few weeks now.

* Note: I’ve excluded today’s ICM poll in the News of the World as the individual party figures were not published. Instead I’ve used the last Guardian ICM poll.
