Chris Huhne was a Liberal Democrat MEP and then MP for Eastleigh 2005-13. He stood for the party’s leadership in 2007, losing to Nick Clegg.

A Cabinet minister in the 2010 Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition government, Chris Huhne’s political career came to an end after being convicted of perverting the course of justice following a traffic speeding incident.
